Veterans Day is a day that we celebrate to honor those who have served in our military.
Deborah Sanders, first-grade teacher at Arizona Desert Elementary is a veteran. Sanders is a retired military officer who served in the Air Force for 21 years. Sanders retired at the rank of Lt. Colonel.
“My career began in the military during myfreshman year of college. I joined the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) at my school. I stayed in ROTC for four years and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant when I
graduated,” says Sanders.

Authors Sasha and Rodney Glassman have written a series of books about Jeremy Jackrabbit and his adventures.
When the Glassmans went to the Tucson Festival of Books, they met a children’s book author and that made them want to become authors. Rodney
Glassman’s little brother, Jeremy, had a poster in his room with a jackrabbit on it so the Glassmans chose to use a jackrabbit in their books.
Miguel! Nice to meet you! Anthony Gonzalez that is. Gonzalez is the voice of Miguel in the Disney/Pixar movie “Coco.”
Gonzalez is 13 years old, has two older sisters, a younger brother and an older brother. All of them sing and act. Gonzalez says they compete and have fun together. Gonzalez began singing at the age of 4. He says his first commercial was an Oscar Mayer commercial.
